Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
Philippians 4:4
The letter to the Philippian Church is probably best known for its invitation to “rejoice always”. The Apostle Paul encourages this church to experience joy despite the challenging circumstances confronting them. He shares how he came to a place of peace and contentment no matter what hostile situations he found himself in. How did he do this? It certainly wasn’t by forcing himself to feel joy when he was actually experiencing painful situations. Paul makes it clear he was a companion to suffering. What distinguishes Paul and his letter to the church in Philippi is that joy can be experienced in the midst of challenging circumstances.
